Crestabond PP-04 Structural Adhesive

Crestabond PP-04 is an off-white, low surface energy, primerless, 2-part MMA structural adhesive. It is designed to structurally bond substrates with a low surface energy such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and other difficult to bond plastics, commonly known as thermoplastic polyolefins (TPO). Such plastics repel rather than attract adhesion due to their non-polar, non-porous and chemically inert surfaces.

With excellent adhesion abilities and high strength, it replaces the need for mechanical fasteners or plastic welding, allowing for greater design flexibility.

This makes PP-04 useful for bonding, repairing and constructing kayaks, super yachts, buses, coaches, cars, trains, trucks, doors, windows, cladding, blades, housing, nacelles, motorhomes , caravans, tractors, diggers, off – road and combine harvesters plus many other applications.

PP-04 has a working time of just 3-5 minutes, but a fixture time of 165-180 minutes at 23°C and 80-100 minutes at 50°C. Despite their non-porous and chemically inert surfaces, this adhesive will easily bond to thermoplastics without the need for pre-treatment or primer and is suitable for gap filling between 0.5 and 5mm.

Directions for Use

1. Ensure that there are no traces of oil, grease or dirt on surfaces to be bonded.

2. Dispense the adhesive via manual or pneumatic dispensing gun

3. Dispense initially onto a non-bonding surface until the mixed bead colour is uniform.

4. Mate parts within the working time of the product and clamp properly to prevent joint movement.
